Pritzker Group has purchased Entertainment Cruises Inc., owner of the Odyssey and Spirit of Chicago dinner cruise operators.
The sale took place earlier this month, though it was announced today by ICV Partners, the New York-based investment firm that sold Entertainment Cruises to Chicago-based Pritzker Group, which is led by Tony and J. B. Pritzker.
ICV said in a press release that it earned three times its investment on Entertainment Cruises. The firm did not identify the buyer, but a Pritzker Group spokesperson confirmed the organization bought the company.
The Chicago Tribune reported the deal earlier today.
Chicago-based Entertainment Cruises is the largest dining-cruise operator in the nation.
“Entertainment Cruises is led by an outstanding management team with a 20-year track record of success.” David Rosen, a partner at Pritzker Group, said in a statement. “As the leader in the dining cruise industry, the company is well-positioned for continued growth.”
“Entertainment Cruises achieved remarkable growth and generated a strong return for our investors,” Lloyd Metz, an ICV managing director, said in the press release.
